Open Access (OA)

This is a set of principles and a range of practices through which research outputs are distributed online, free of access charges or other barriers. Open Science

Open Science (OS) is the movement to make scientific research, data and their dissemination available to any member of an inquiring society, from professionals to citizens. It impinges on principles of scientific growth and public access including practices such as publishing open research and campaigning for open access, with the ultimate aim of making it easier to publish and communicate scientific knowledge. From development to dissemination of knowledge, several concepts belong under the umbrella term of ‘Open Science’.

Open Scholarship

This is defined by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) as encompassing open access, open data, open educational resources, and all other forms of openness in the scholarly and research environment, is changing how knowledge is created and shared. 

Open scholarship is the practice of applying principles of openness throughout the research and scholarly environment. It encompasses both open research and open education.

Learn a lot on datacite and open scholarship through understanding how to go about open infrastructure and services such as DOIs, metadata, APIs and many others.

Comprehensive hands-on training on planning and implementation of institutional repository and datacite activities which will help me in planning and implementation of institutional repository and datacite activities at IUIU.
