Accommodation Information

The workshop participants will be accommodated at Sofitel Guest House, Plot 41 Market Street, Tororo Town, Telephone: 0782-558483/ 0772-456807/ 0702640960, E-mail: sofitelguesthouse@gmail.com. All rooms have been booked on behalf of the participants. On arrival, please indicate to the hotel staff that you’re a participant for the Busitema University DataCite workshop. 

Travel arrangements

All participants are expected to start arriving on Sunday and check in at the Hotel. Plan your journey early enough and prepare to travel early to avoid arriving very late. The journey from Kampala to Tororo takes between 3 hours and a half and 5 hours depending on the traffic flow. For those that will be travelling using public means, the Taxis are available in the Old New Taxi Park - look out for the Kampala - Tororo route and insist that you’re travelling to Busitema University, Busitema Campus, along Jinja - Malaba Road. Please note that Busitema University is a multicampus University with 6 Campuses across Eastern Uganda. The Taxi touts/ Operators can easily mislead you to the wrong route.
