Am in Charge of the E-resources and Institutional repository section.
In my position as the Electronic Resources coordinator for Makerere University Business School, I do training needs assessments, evaluations and facilitations for PHD, masters and undergraduates and staff. Over the span of my carrier i have planned and facilitated hundreds of workshops and training courses. As the institutional Electronic Resources coordinator, I train staff and students on the use of electronic resources, marketing electronic resources, designing training programs, designing training materials and keep in contact with trainers, and publishers, maintaining administrative arrangements for seminars, conferences, meetings and general provision of administrative support.
I also work as the institutional Repository administrator, I am in charge of train staff and students on the use of institutional repository,
Open access is the practice of providing online access to scientific information that is free of charge and reusable to the users. This includes both peer-reviewed publications and data underlying publications, or other datasets.
Is the movement to make scientific research and its dissemination accessible to all levels of society for both amateur and professional. This includes publications, data, physical samples, and software. Open science is transparent and accessible knowledge that is shared and developed through collaborative networks.
Open Scholarship - Is the application of open practices throughout the teaching, learning, research and scholarly environment. Examples of open practices include: The use of open copyright licenses that grant permission for others to freely access, reuse, redistribute, or build upon your scholarly work. It is based on the principles of inclusion, fairness, equity, and sharing, and ultimately seeks to change the way research is done, who is involved and how it is valued.
