Dr. Fredrick Kiwuwa Lugya is a Librarian by training and career. He holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science (LIS) and a Master of Science in LIS from the iSchool of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, United States; and a Bachelor of LIS from Makerere University. Fredrick is grounded in Human Information Behavior (HIB) research and his research intersects the concepts and principles relating to people, information, and systems, with a strong emphasis on different types of context. He is currently investigating enhancing students' learning through fostering collaborations between the lecturer and librarian. Prior to joining Busitema University as the University Librarian, Fredrick was leading the digitization agenda of Makerere University Library. At Busitema University Library, we take learning and teaching as essential and invigorating aspects of the intellectual life of our library users. Therefore, we firmly agree with S. R. Ranganathan’s Five Laws of Library Science, particularly that “Every reader his [or her] book.” Our intention is to help our library users find theirs. One forecast we make with confidence is - Busitema University Library will continue to grow in importance and impact as the “Distinctive Signifier of Excellence”. Signifying excellence @ Busitema University Library means thinking globally will be the catchword.
