Library User Stories is a storytelling initiative created to highlight the real experiences of students and other members of the Busitema University community as they use the library. The project gives a voice to our users by allowing them to share how the library supports their learning, research, and personal growth.
Through a short video interview, Enock Ekajja Eko speaks openly about:

Enock Ekajja Eko relieves the moment he lost property and found it in the recovery or lost and found section as he shares his experience with the Busitema University Library.
Hi guys my name is Enock Ekajja Eko and I'm a student of Electrical Engineering year 1 Busitema University main campus.
How often do you use the Busitema University Library and for what purpose?
I use this library on a daily and my purpose has always been anchored on research.
What do you like most about the library?
Well one thing that I really like most here is the internet. We have free and unlimited internet everywhere except for some parts then also the space around is really so good, the environment is really so conducive and yeah, that's what I've really liked about it so far.
Can you share a memorable experience you have had in the library.
Well one of my memorable experiences was when I lost something, I think it got misplaced and in me I was really quaking, panicking, you know that kind of stuff but when I got down to the ground floor at the recovery section I saw what I was looking for and I was really so amazed. I really felt so great and it really made me feel this is the right place I really felt so good.
How has the library supported your academic or research work?
Just like I said we have internet so you can literally come and search for whatever you want then also the academic bit of it. We have books around, each time we've always wanted to read, we've always come for references and things like that.
Which library service or resource do you find most useful?
Well you know right about now we are in a digital era and I think the internet is almost everything we can live without the books but we cannot live without the internet. Some of these books are there on the internet so I think that is what I have found most resourceful for now.
Has the digital library or online resources helped you in any way?
Yeah they have because in fact instead of coming here, all I need to do is sit down wherever I sit and you know access the resources so it is really time saving and also convenient.
If you could suggest one improvement, what would it be?
Ok like I earlier said, the internet is not reaching some parts cause sometimes you come and you find the place is so busy and you go to specific parts, the internet is not there so I think first things should come first and that can be improved. And also the closing hours on weekends is not really favouring for some us cause on Saturdays and Sundays we really feel like we should make an extension overnight but the time is so limited and I think that should be worked upon. I think it should be the normal time should be 10 in the night.
Why do think every student should use the library?
Well I think every student should use here because if you really want to achieve whatever you want then the core should be research, the core should be reading, I think that is why.
