Library User Stories is a storytelling initiative created to highlight the real experiences of students and other members of the Busitema University community as they use the library. The project gives a voice to our users by allowing them to share how the library supports their learning, research, and personal growth.

Econi Ronald, a year 2 student pursuing a Bachelors' of Science in Agriculture Mechanization and Irrigation Engineering from Busitema University shares his Library User story.
By names I'm Econi Ronald a year 2 student doing Bachelors of Mechanization and Irrigation Engineering. I am in the Faculty of Engineering.
How often do you use the Busitema University Library and for what purpose?
Mostly I use the library for my research purposes. At times lecturers give some things on surface but it is you who is to take that step to go and dive deep. So normally I come here, I do my research and find things working out for me.
What do you like most about the library?
The library is easily accessible whenever you need it because of the schedules. It is normally opened early and even the time it is closed, it is favourable meaning you can access it each and every time in a day.
Can you share a memorable experience you have had in the library?
Ah, memorable experience it was when I came here, I didn't understand some things but I used the library website to look for some text book. Indeed they helped me that day I was extremely happy.
How has the library supported your academic or research work?
Yeah the library has contributed a lot towards my academic journey because each time when I come here, I get to know new things through the available resources which are here in the library. The books and also online library so they always give me a lot of information which keeps me moving this journey of academics.
Which library service or resource do you find most useful?
Okay the internet is okay and mostly I come here for discussions. Mostly I use the discussion rooms so they really help me a lot.
Has the digital library or online resources helped you in any way?
Yeah they have helped me but to some extent. There was a time I wanted some books to get them online but I failed and I know that one needs to be worked on.
If you could suggest one improvement, what would it be?
First and foremost you find that if you look at all these discussion rooms, at times you come in a number of 10, at times even 15 and you are to discuss. The better way for you to discuss something is when a whiteboard is put in place then you be there and then the others are on the other side. But mostly we find here you only have one table and one person is supposed to discuss meaning it will make all other members to come and converge so even others won't access what the discussant is doing. So putting whiteboard would be something important.
Why do think every student should use the library?
I will say off course here at the university or in any learning institution without access to the library, you can't convince that you will get all resources. I will advise them the best way to get all resources you need for your academic purpose, they are found in the library.
