Library User Stories is a storytelling initiative created to highlight the real experiences of students and other members of the Busitema University community as they use the library. The project gives a voice to our users by allowing them to share how the library supports their learning, research, and personal growth.
Through a short video interview, Maurice Mathew Muhangi speaks openly about:

My name is Maurice Mathew Muhangi Busitema University doing Mining Engineering in my year 2 Busitema University main campus.
How often do you use the Busitema University Library and for what purpose?
For the biggest part of it, it is roaming and I am always here most probably every day that is minus weekends most times but every day of the week I'm always here and basically it's to roam and search about many things.
What do you like most about the library?
About the library it is the good reading environment, the spaciousness, it is silent, it is a good reading place.
Can you share a memorable experience you have had in the library?
I would start by citing out the recently concluded Open Access Week. I took part in some of the activities and it introduced me to E library stuff, I'm still catching up with a lot of it but it was memorable and I think it provides enough space for discussions and all that kind of study work.
How has the library supported your academic or research work?
Basically the library has been of use in the area of research, it provides good internet though sometimes unstable but good internet that is essential for doing research for different courses, course units, it has been of use.
Which library service or resource do you find most useful?
I would say it is basically the internet because it gives me a lot of access to a lot of information in the different course units and fields I need to research about.
Has the digital library or online resources helped you in any way?
I'm still adapting to that but for the biggest part of it, I've not engaged. Well I would not ascribe it to any other person, I think I have not just had the time to give it more effort.
If you could suggest one improvement, what would it be?
Most of the times it get congested with students most especially now in the examination times and what often happens is the internet becomes unstable in such cases so it makes research and roaming related work hard so I would suggest that if probably the internet would be made more stable and stronger most especially for the reading purposes. I think also the conditioning, sometimes it gets very hot every time the numbers increase.
Why do think every student should use the library?
Why I think every student should use the library, number 1 is I treasure it because I get a good experience and more ample time to read.
