Library User Stories is a storytelling initiative created to highlight the real experiences of students and other members of the Busitema University community as they use the library. The project gives a voice to our users by allowing them to share how the library supports their learning, research, and personal growth.

Through a short video interview, Buteme Emilly speaks openly about:

  • How often she uses the library and for what purposes
  • What he appreciates most about the library
  • Memorable experiences she has had while using the library
  • How library services both physical and digital have supported her academic journey
  • The resources she finds most useful
  • Her suggestions for improving library services
  • Why she believes every student should make use of the library

My name is Buteme Emilly doing BCT year one, studying from Busitema main campus.

How often do you use the Busitema University Library and for what purpose?

I use it almost everyday. I come here because it is comfortable so I come and I revise from the library even for discussions.

What do you like most about the library?

There is free access of books and WIFI, the environment is quiet and the technical staff, the librarians.

Can you share a memorable experience you have had in the library?

My first time in the library, they taught us how to log in with library online and they even gave us the password to the WIFI. They taught us how to access books physically, how to talk to the librarians.

How has the library supported your academic or research work?

The library has provided us with WIFI for research. It has even provided us with books free of charge.

Which library service or resource do you find most useful?

The WIFI.

Has the digital library or online resources helped you in any way?

Me personally, I haven't used the digital library but maybe next semester.

If you could suggest one improvement, what would it be?

Improvement is to adjust on the ACs in the library, cause it is hot.

Why do think every student should use the library?

Every student should use this library cause it is quiet and comfortable and one can easily do his or her research cause there is free WIFI.
