Library User Stories is a storytelling initiative created to highlight the real experiences of students and other members of the Busitema University community as they use the library. The project gives a voice to our users by allowing them to share how the library supports their learning, research, and personal growth.

Kagoda Enock, a year 3 student pursuing a Bachelors' of Science in Water Resources Engineering from Busitema University shares his Library User story.
My name is Kagoda Enock a student of Busitema University pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Water Resources Engineering. I'm from the Faculty of Engineering that's main campus Busitema Year 3.
How often do you use the Busitema University Library and for what purpose?
I normally use it for my personal reading, then in addition to that, internet.
What do you like most about the library?
Mostly this library is convenient. It has a conducive environment and it is that environment which can support a student to do what he or she wants when it comes to academics for example personal reading. For example you can go to the internet, google then make your research
Can you share a memorable experience you have had in the library?
I remember a memorable experience I can share is while I was in my year 1, internet was kinda down and it couldn't favour us so we could come to the library and end up regretting why then we end up moving out looking for other internet spots.
How has the library supported your academic or research work?
Yeah it has done so in a way that now internet has been improved and we can access internet everywhere in every corner in this library
Which library service or resource do you find most useful?
Internet
Has the digital library or online resources helped you in any way?
Yeah it has done so because we registered for it the first day we reported here when we were still in year 1. So we were guided on how to use it so I've been using it for my personal research like for example there are some assignments they give us when they require us to look for different books and those books, most of them are online and not physical so I've used it to search for those books and then other information and I've succeeded because I always receive the information back.
If you could suggest one improvement, what would it be?
What I can suggest is this library is too small because the population is growing now. Sometimes when it comes to examination period you can see the library gets full. Like sometimes you come and then you fail to get where to sit. Then the other issue is where we normally leave our gadgets since the library doesn't allow us to enter with bags, we need more storage stuffs (storage compartments)where we can hang our bags.
Why do think every student should use the library?
I think every student should make use of this library because first of all, it is a comfortable place where you can come and then sit and be comfortable and in addition to that there is good internet everywhere and there are discussion rooms in this library so you can decide to come as a group then you discuss instead of some students going outside under the tree so they con come inside (the library) where there is good internet, they sit because there are round tables and then discuss.
