As part of the continued support for student learning, the department of Education, Faculty of Science and Education organized a training session in which in-service primary teachers of Faculty of Science were appraised on the current e learning platforms. The training was facilitated by the library staff of the faculty.

In particular, the teachers where shown how to effectively conduct online lectures and group discussions using the Zoom application as well as Google Meet.

Led by the Campus librarian, Mr. Isaac Mukungu, the library team engaged a fruitful session on 17th January 2023 at the Faculty of Science, Nagongera.

The Zoom application offers video telephony and online chat services as well as messaging (Chat). The library team demonstrated to the students the use of the application to facilitate synchronous online learning and engagement.

Google meet application being one of the most used meeting applications was the other application that the librarian Mr. Isaac Mukungu demonstrated to the students. This open source application Google meet is a video-communication service developed by Google to facilitate online engagement using its functionalities of video, audio and messaging.
