The Engineering Library staff led by the Campus Librarian has today taken a significant stride towards promoting technological advancement in library services through a successful community outreach program held at Busia Secondary School Library. The team has met the Deputy Head Teacher, Mr. Ouma Nickson with a shared vision of fostering a culture of knowledge and learning, the event aimed to empower the school's library staff to invigorate Information Technology (IT) and embrace automation to enhance their Library Services such as Circulation, Information retrieval among others. Information Technology integration in library services is crucial, especially in light of the new Ugandan curriculum which encourages a more exploratory and research-intensive approach to learning, where students are expected to venture into the world of knowledge and navigate their way through it. With the automation of library services, students will find it easier to access a vast range of resources, promoting academic excellence and nurturing an inquisitive culture.
