With more than 14 years of expertise working in a university IT setting, Ms. Grace Adong is a knowledgeable IT professional. Her Degrees are from Kyambogo University's( KYU) Bachelor of Information Technology and Computing and Uganda Martyrs University's (UMU) Master of Science in Information Systems.

At the moment, she is employed as an IT officer at Busitema University. With expertise in virtualization, open source solutions, data management, backup, network configuration and maintenance, and end user support. She has worked as a systems administrator in the past. In order to automate the university library, she was given extra responsibilities in 2018 as a systems Librarian. Her accomplishments in setting up the Library Catalog and institutional repository have improved community and University-wide research. She is the Busitema University's site administrator as well as E-Learning and teaching are done through the use of the Online Learning Environment (BUOLE).

From 2016-2022, Ms. Adong served as secretary of the ICT Directors Forum for Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU), or the NREN for Uganda. In 2018, served as a Volunteer trainer for the DATA-R project with the Association of African Universities (AAU) and led several workshops in Abidjan, Kampala, and Cairo. The African Network Operators Group (AfNOG) in AfNOG, the Africa Internet Summit in 2016, Gaborone, Botswana, AfNOG-AIS in 2017, Nairobi, Kenya, and AfNOG - AIS in 2019, Kampala, Uganda are just a few of the conferences she has attended E-Learning Instructional Design Certification training which she attended in 2019 at the VINSYS IT Training Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
